Not an Evora you know. Stratton GT. I’m sure you heard about a Lotus Evora GTE (GT350 in fact). A limited run of 20 supercars sold all over the world and only six in the UK. I’m sure you noticed already that Stratton GT looks like one of the GTEs but that’s where similarities end. Guys at Stratton Motorsport decided to take the original Evora S and fit full body kit, put it on a diet, expand stable of horses under the hood and replace a half of the interior with carbon. As a result, you get an Evora Stratton GT, more powerful than any of the previous ones and still with a manual gearbox – the way a sports car meant to be! One beautiful morning at Brands Hatch, I had a chance to take this amazing car for a photoshoot. I hope you like the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
Lotus Festival 2017. Brands Hatch. Amazing day at Lotus Festival this year. A lot of great cars – new, old, classics – any flavour you like, and in any colour! It was great to catch up with old friends and meet some new. Endless discussions about cars with their enthusiastic owners, is something I always enjoy. That’s the spirit of the Lotus community. Guys at The Lotus Forums did a great job by putting together one of the biggest Lotus gatherings in the world. Can’t wait to come back to Brands Hatch Racing Circuit next year!
James Hunt is back at Brands Hatch. Lotus Type-59. “James Hunt won several races in his Molyslip Lotus 59, including coming 2nd in heat 1 and winning heat 2 at Brands Hatch 17th July 1970.” – After 46 years, his car is now back at this legendary circuit racing again! We had many beautiful cars at this year’s Lotus Festival and James’ Hunt car was one of them. Early Sunday morning we took it out from pit garages and take some legendary pictures, including a re-production of a photo taken before the race in 1970. It’s small, it’s cute, it’s fast, it’s mean. Lotus Elise Cup 250. That’s all a good car should have. Great road car to enjoy a journey, perfect track car to leave behind most of competitors. Seriously, it is just slightly improved Cup 220 ;) I just had another chance to take this car for photos and drive around Lotus Test Track in Hethel, thanks to The Lotus Forums.
The fastest Lotus ever. Lotus 3-Eleven. This is the very first production car of Lotus 3-Eleven and it had to be in signature Lotus’ green & yellow colours (I like it more in silver). Great looking car and really, really fast with power-, mnoptto-weight ratio similar to Bugatti Veyron, although, this is faster, probably more fun to drive too, not mentioning cheaper (I know, I should not compare them). A proper driver-focused machine. If you are ever going to have a chance to drive it – DO IT! I had a chance to take it for some photos during Bell & Colvill’s trackday at Goodwood, unfortunately I did not have enough time to take some proper rigshots. 10 minutes of spare time was enough to take one moving shot and static photos were a higher priority for me that time. I’m happy to share with you this gallery and I hope you enjoy it. In the meantime, I will try to figure out how I can get a 3-Eleven for few hours to do some rig-shot-moving-awesome-shots ;)
Autosport International Show. NEC Birmingham. This year I missed press days at the show and I was forced to visit it on Saturday. All good up to 11AM, amount of people was acceptable, but later it was just too much, so I did not manage to take a lot of photos. At least I tried, right? It was a fairly short day for me, but intensive… I like it this way! A lot of nice cars (as always) like new Lotus 3-Eleven, Porsche GT4 Clubsport, Arrinera, Hussarya, quite a lot of BMWs in every form and shape, new Zenos S10R… even Mad Max Mustang ;) Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photos.
Ready to Race. Lotus Exige 360 CUP. Whole weekend during Lotus Festival at Brands Hatch was packed with cars & racing (what a surprise, right?). I was a very busy man, from early hours on Saturday morning, followed by a spontaneous photo shoot with this Exige, up to late hours on Sunday. I had a rare opportunity to borrow this car for a hour and take some great photos in pitlane. Not often I can use empty track to take some pictures of a car in perfect colour-combo, if you haven’t noticed yet, I like white-red-black mix :). Anyway, enjoy some photos as these are probably one of first shots taken by non-Lotus-factory person. Big thanks to Lotus for letting me take the car for this short session in pitlane!
Morgan & Lotus. Bell & Colvill Circuit Club Trackdays are not only focused around cars, track, speed, corners. Quite often they are playing a part in our social live. Chance to meet new people, exchange experience, have a ride in somebody’s car. Experience is everything and learning is really important part of the day. Ultimately cars play most important part of the day and connect everybody into a group of friends. You must be a friend with somebody to trust him on a track, right? :) Guys from Bell & Colvill mixed two different cars – Lotus and Morgan. Both fast and both great to drive in a sunny day on the legendary circuit – Goodwood. Great day and a lot of fun. Lotus Race Day Snetterton. Lotus Cup & Elise Trophy I wasn’t happy that I had to wake up around 5AM, but it was worth it. A cold, rainy morning turned into cloudy and windy afternoon, still cold though. We started with Lotus Cup series practice session, still on wet track, few races of Lotus Cup UK Speed Championship, mixed with Elise Trophy and some other random track activities. It was a really busy day and I had to be in a lot of places at the same time, hoping for some action and nice shots. I’ve got plenty of pictures from the event and a lot from of the racing cars on track too, but this gallery supposed to focus on race day that is usually not shown.
