Photography Summary of 2018 This has been a very intensive year and a lot of interesting things happened. I can only share a fraction of my work and yet and the idea is to share pictures I personally like and enjoyed working on. Year hasn’t ended at the time of writing this post and I’ve got two more quick photoshoots coming up. Ohh well, let’s say year has ended and those pictures will make the way to 2019 summary (if they are worth it). All the best in the new year, guys!

The future is now. BMW i8 I picked up the car on Friday morning and spend a whole weekend around it. I used every single day for photos. We started in an old barn with strobe lights and we spent there around eight hours shooting the car from every possible angle. The next day was focused a little bit more causal on carparks’ top floors, including a lovely sunset and ended with a light painting session through the night with fellow photographers. Sunday morning in a forest and a few quick rig shots early morning. I did not have time to work on all the photos I have taken, but I tried to pick the best one from each day and share with you here. I really enjoyed the car. Drives lovely, looks stunning and those doors draw attenion everywhere you park and you try to get out of it. It was a fun experience and I can’t wait to get another amazing machine like that for a few days of fun.

Before & After. Lotus Evora 400. From the Lotus Factory test track at Hethel. We had a day with Hasselblad and I thought it would be nice to share this snap and before & after version. There was no hardcore photoshop in this picture but mostly adjustment in colours, contrast, hue. Added a little bit of blur and a new sky. Nothing too hardcore.

The Storm Chaser. Lotus Evora GT430. The real storm in pure shape. Mean, fast and loud. Only the good stuff. Lotus Evora GT430 one of sixty produced. Lotus did an amazing job with this car and build quality is really good, definitely a move in the right direction. We had an amazing day together, just two of us and the whole place for ourselves. I took a lot of pictures of this car and it joined to my collection of unique Evora GT350s (GTEs). I’ve got already more plans for photos of GT430 models in different colours and I will definitely share these with it’s time. Massive thanks to Lotus Silverstone for supplying the car, great hospitality and all their help throughout the day. I’m sure we will do a little bit more collaboration like this in future. You know, Exige Cup430 looks like a good candidate… Actually, we already had the photoshoot with an awesome yellow ‘xige. Watch out this space for photos!

Before & After. Lotus Type-59. The legendary car is back where it belongs to – Brands Hatch Circuit. I like to share my before & after shots and I love to see them from other photographers. You can discover how an average photo can turn into epic. In some other cases, how epic a shot shot is at time of taking, before any post-processing. At the end, there is always something new you can learn from them. You can see the whole gallery from this session here: James Hunt is back at Brands Hatch. Lotus Type-59. This particular picture was also featured back in 2016 in I SHOT IT competition and received Mark of Excellence.

Not an Evora you know. Stratton GT. I’m sure you heard about a Lotus Evora GTE (GT350 in fact). A limited run of 20 supercars sold all over the world and only six in the UK. I’m sure you noticed already that Stratton GT looks like one of the GTEs but that’s where similarities end. Guys at Stratton Motorsport decided to take the original Evora S and fit full body kit, put it on a diet, expand stable of horses under the hood and replace a half of the interior with carbon. As a result, you get an Evora Stratton GT, more powerful than any of the previous ones and still with a manual gearbox – the way a sports car meant to be! One beautiful morning at Brands Hatch, I had a chance to take this amazing car for a photoshoot. I hope you like the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.        

Lotus Festival 2017. Brands Hatch. Amazing day at Lotus Festival this year. A lot of great cars – new, old, classics – any flavour you like, and in any colour! It was great to catch up with old friends and meet some new. Endless discussions about cars with their enthusiastic owners, is something I always enjoy. That’s the spirit of the Lotus community. Guys at The Lotus Forums did a great job by putting together one of the biggest Lotus gatherings in the world. Can’t wait to come back to Brands Hatch Racing Circuit next year!

Simply Japanese. National Motor Museum Beaulieu. I haven’t been in this place for at least two years. Well, it was time to repair this mistake and have chosen to come to Simply Japanese meeting last week. I took my TypeR for a little trip and arrived to New Forest early morning, well before 9AM, moments before all car clubs were started arriving. I hate queues. As usually, there was a plenty of cars but a few were more than exotic, like ’88 Toyota Celica Supra. It is first time I saw an almost 30 years old car looking better than new. Amazing machine and owner apparently has in his garage more beauties like this one. Very interesting. I will let photos do the talking! Enjoy.  

One Sunday Morning. Lotus Exige S.   It was one of those nice mornings, cold winter mornings with another Lotus. I saw this car first time at few years ago at B&C and I fell in love with white-red combo. I was surprirsed to see it in hands of ex-Evora owner. Checkout the video from this photoshoot!
